Falling For Autumn

Autumn is by far my favourite season…

It has a particular beauty: the changing colour of the leaves, the crisping sound when walking through them, the touching  emotion of the rain, the rich colourfull fruits , the  unique  smell of the air …all these make you think of a kind of resignation, of a deep silence  …When you look around outside and you see the woods and countryside, you can loose yourself in their beauty. The summer heat is gone, but the lights and colours give the kind of warmth which I like most !

Let’s make more time to admire this queen of the seasons!

Soap made of: grapeseed oil, coconut oil, palm oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, almond oil, shea butter, goat milk.

The yellow part is made of turmeric powder and scented with Litsée Citronnée essential oil, while the velvet-brown part has for its colour walnut seedcoat extract and for its fragrance the Mandarin essential oil.Autumn Soap

Celery Soap

Green is one of my favourite colours. The first green in soap I obtained  using netel  powder , afterwards I discovered spirulina as a natural colorant but the colour seems to fade away slightly after a while. This time I wanted to try green juice from celery, a  healthy plant which contains vitamin C, A and potassium. Celery is a hydrating food due to the high amount of water which it contains. Vitamin C and A present in celery juice are beneficial in curing minor cuts and skin wounds.  Celery juice helps to keep the skin well hydrated and prevents premature wrinkles and creases. My celery soap contains: coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil, olive oil, cacao botter, calendula oil, castor oil,  fresh celery juice diluated with goatmilk and Hô Wood essential oil.  The sweet and warm aroma, similar to rosewood, changes this oil into an aphrodisiac. Hô wood essential oil is also said to be anti-bacterial remedy, it is also used for treating muscle pains and skin deseases.

So far I am really fascinated by this natural green.

Wand of Heaven of Aloe Vera Soap

Aloe vera soap  was on my ‘to do’ list since some months.  My will was to make a soap using the fresh aloe vera plant and not the gel/juice which can easily be found in shops. We had an aloe plant back at home which was really old and growing too big and when my mother came to visit us this year, she brought it to me. I have never tried this plant in soap, but I am addicted to this plant and I am using it a lot.

Aloe vera has a long history as a safe and effective internal medicine and external skin care emollient. With a high water content of nearly 96%, this plant called also ‘Fountain of Youth’ or ‘First Aid Plant’,  has been hailed as a medicinal plant with many beneficial properties.

Soap made of: coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, castor oil, linseed oil, palm oil, cacao butter, goatmilk, fresh aloe vera and cajeput essential oil or white tea tree essential oil for its sweet but penetrating smell.

Centaurea Cyanus Soap

Goatmilk soap

I must admit: lavender and tea tree are the most frequently used combination of essential oils in my soaps. I have read some months ago that this synergy gives good results in facial skin care preventing acne. The fact that I really liked the scent produced by those 2 oils was of course a plus. Lavender on one hand as a calming, positively dreaming oil which is fragrant, relaxing and soothing and tea-tree on the other hand  having a rather heavy spicy woody scent.

Tea tree oil has become a popular natural ingredient in all kinds of shampoos, face soaps and ointments because of its amazing healing powers. Known perhaps as the most useful and certainly the most popular essential oil,  Lavender is a  natural antiseptic, anti-depressant, healingand stimulating cell regeneration.Korenbloemzeep

Lavender & Tea Tree Soap

Indigo SoapLavender and tea-tree soap made of goatmilk and buttermilk, palm oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, castor oil, grapeseed oil.
Indigo Soap
The colour is the result of the rose ochre and Indigofera Suffruticosa Extract( Indigo). I really like this purple ontained naturally.

Green & white clay soap

Savon à l'rgiile verte et blancheThis is one of my favourite soaps as it contains besides vegetable oils ( coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, grapeseeds oil, safflower oil) green and white clay. I have already used once green clay in soap and I was really impressed by the benefits of this natural ingredient. White clay is known as the mildest of all clays, making it the perfect treatment for those with a sensitive and dry skin.

Faux tunnel techniqueI would like to take the opportunity to thank Amy for these lovely moments during these 11 weeks. Those were weeks full of inspiration, colours, smiles. I learned new techniques, I admired hundreds of soaps, I discovered new soap blogs but especially I met nice people and all this thanks to Amy. Thank you Amy for your engagement of helping us, for commenting on every single post, for sharing with us your nice experiments.
